It should be Jesus, Jesus, Jesus

“Well, now, beloved fellow-disciples, it should be Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, more practically and experimentally in our closets, in our walk, in our labour, in our service; and day by day our hearts should be occupied with Jesus, and especially the friendship of Jesus should be cultivated by us increasingly. When trials, difficulties, and sorrows come, we should remember we have the self-same Jesus now as ready to comfort and encourage us as He did the disciples more than 1800 years since; and quite as ready as He was then to prove Himself our Friend, our Helper, our Comforter.”

Kids Pretending It’s Winter

Here are a few pictures of the kids playing with their Thomas the train cards and one picture of Andrew pretending it is winter. A day after he pretended it was winter it dropped to the 40’s at night after 90 degrees in the day. I hope he doesn’t pretend winter during the winter, I could only imagine how cold winter could be.

With Friends Like These Who Needs Enemies

God’s friends have often created as many problems for Him as His enemies; consider Abraham, Jacob, and David. Moses as God’s representative had more difficulty with the Hebrews than he did with the Egyptians. He also lost his temper and suffered the wrath of God.

Become Acquainted With Jesus

“The more we become acquainted with Jesus and with ourselves, the more we seek to be like that blessed One. After this, let us, fellow-believers, more and more aim. “The world is passing away, and the fashion, thereof.” We have but one life to spend here, and that a very brief one; and after our conversion our one great object in this evil world should be to seek to manifest the mind of Jesus. And then, with regard to our fellow-believers, we are to love one another. Disciples should love one another, notwithstanding all the weaknesses and infirmities we see in one another. For Christ’s sake should we do it, because it is the will of that blessed One. Therefore let us aim after this; and the more we can thus manifest the mind of Jesus, the greater will be the honour which we obtain for Him.”

Ministry Update from April - June 2014

Mortgage Burning

The last three months have absolutely flown by and it is hard to believe it is time to write another update again.  We were extremely excited about paying off our church building and we celebrated by having a special mortgage burning service. We conducted the service at the park down the street from the church and had 60-70 people showed up. Several individuals who helped get our church off the ground were there and our people were very encouraged to see them.

Missionaries

Although we are a small church it is my desire to be a blessing to missionaries. We have rearranged the back rooms into a prophet’s chamber for missionaries and guest speakers. When we don’t have guests it can be used as a pastor’s study and Sunday school room.

Ministering With Addicts

God has opened some doors of ministry in the last few months with a young man who is recovering from alcohol addiction. He has spent time in prison and is now in Cheyenne. Several times I have been able to chat with him and he is very hunger for spiritual truth.  He has shared with me how he has found Crist to be the answer and that his addictions were only the fruit of a deeper problem of selfishness.

Everything written in this letter as well as what is on our blog is fairly generic. If you would like more details so you can pray more accurately please contact me. I don’t like personal details about other people being posted on the internet.
