Go to God as a person not as a thing
I pray you, remember two things. I have not told you to trust the omnipotence of God as a thing, and I have not told you to trust the Word of God as a written book, but I have told you to go to the God of omnipotence and the God of the Word. - Andrew Murray

The Collapse of Civilizations
Why is it that the magnificent civilizations fashioned by human endeavor throughout history have tumbled and collapsed one after another with apocalyptic suddenness? Is it not because, ever since man’s original fall and onward to the present, sin has plummeted human existence into an unbroken crisis of word and truth? A cosmic struggle between truth and falsehood, between good and evil, shadows the whole history of mankind. The Bible depicts it as a conflict between the authority of God and the claims of the Evil One. Measured by the yardstick of God’s holy purposes, all that man proudly designates as human culture is little but idolatry. God’s Word proffers no compliments whatever to man’s so-called historical progress; rather, it indicts man’s pseudoparadises as veritable towers of Babel that obscure and falsify God’s truth and Word.

I Am Nothing
Craik wrote of himself, ‘I am nothing, have nothing, can bear nothing and depending on myself is madness. My depending on the Lord is heavenly wisdom.’

Praise for the past and future
We will praise Him for all that is past,
And trust Him for all that’s to come.

Integrated Evangelism
Evangelism for us isn’t relegated to a time slot, nor to one or two types of activities. In short, evangelism is practiced as a way of life. It’s not surprising, then, that barriers come down, and that people hear and believe the good news of the gospel. As Jesus said, “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another” (John 13:35, KJV).

Church of God, Beloved and Chosen
https://www.hymnal.net/en/hymn/h/825
1
Church of God, beloved and chosen,
Church of Christ for whom He died,
Claim thy gifts and praise the Giver,
Ye are washed and sanctified.
Sanctified by God the Father,
And by Jesus Christ His Son,
And by God the Holy Spirit,
Holy, Holy, Three in One.
2
By His will He sanctifieth,
By the Spirit’s power within;
By the loving hand that chasteneth
Fruits of righteousness to win;
By His truth and by His promise,
By the Word, His gift unpriced,
By His own blood, and by union
With the risen life of Christ.
3
Holiness by faith in Jesus,
Not by effort of thine own,
Sin’s dominion crushed and broken
By the power of grace alone,
Christ, the holiness within thee,
His own beauty on thy brow:
This shall be thy pilgrim brightness,
This thy blessed portion now.
4
He will sanctify thee wholly;
Body, spirit, soul shall be
Blameless till thy Savior’s coming
In His glorious majesty!
He hath perfected forever
Those whom He hath sanctified;
Spotless, glorious, and holy,
Is the Church, His chosen Bride.

Ministry Update
In the last few weeks we have been marveling at what God is doing. I’m not sure what is happening but it is clear that God is on the move. I am reminded of 1 Thessalonians 5:24 where it said,
“Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.”
God is beginning to do some amazing things that I want to share.
A Full House For Three Weeks
In the last few weeks we have seen a sudden growth in attendance that is unexplainable apart from God’s drawing. We have not had any special promotions or programs. A few weeks ago I mentioned how we had five first time visitors attend our services. That was followed by another week with a full crowd and more visitors. Then last week we had about twenty five adults and about thirty including children. It is not uncommon to have this size of crowd around Christmas or Easter, but God seems to be doing something. Several of the visitors have made plans to continuing coming and we are rejoicing in God’s work.
I have a hunch that God is beginning to bestow His blessings as a result of someone’s prayer. I don’t take lightly those who are praying for our ministry and it seems that God is beginning to break through. But don’t stop praying! Pray that those who are coming will respond in faith to Biblical truth. It would be counterproductive if people hear truth without responding.
A Full Size Van
With the amount of people that have been coming we asked Douglas Baptist Church if they had any more of the chairs that they had given us years ago, before my wife and I came. They were more than happy to give us some more but it wasn’t but a week after we asked that Pastor Phillips called me to inform me that their church wanted to give us a church van. We are very excited about using this in the ministry here.
